Karen is a new age hippie on a mission! Her mission: To play a crucial role in improving health and happiness, and through that process, create a ripple effect that transforms the world!
Karen has been practicing yoga since 1999. She took a Hatha Yoga class for one college credit while studying fine art at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY! She knew then that yoga would be part of her life in a major way.
In High School Karen was introduced to anatomy along with kinesiology and she has had great enthusiasm for these sciences ever since! Obsessing over the Anatomy Coloring Book and studying the human body all 4 years of college by way of figure drawing allowed her to learn the structure of the skeleton and the several layers of muscles in a unique way.
Karen’s fascination with the human body inspired her to continue to learn and experience the physical form in motion, ultimately expanding her understanding of functional anatomy. In 2004 she began training for numerous bodybuilding, fitness and figure competitions. Learning how to manipulate her own physical body and feeling on top of the world by weaving Vinyasa yoga and clean eating into her workout regime is when her fierce passion for helping others blossomed!
In 2009 she became a personal trainer and a Holistic Health Coac , commencing her career in the Health & Fitness industry. Karen provides an effective, safe training environment for her client’s individual success by focusing on proper form, body mechanics and joint mobility. She inspires countless people in her community to make positive change in their own lives
In March of 2013 she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with the brilliant, Vidya Jacqueline Heisel of Frog Lotus Yoga International and had an amazing, enriching experience that opened her eyes to a whole new way of helping others find health and happiness.
Having loved her experiences with the FLY program she also completed the level 1 Thai Yoga Massage training in Massachusetts with the exquisite Jennifer Yarro. Her successes with these programs presented the opportunity to be a part of the Frog Lotus Yoga staff, assisting the teacher trainings and taking on her passion: TEACHING ANATOMY!
Karen is forever grateful for her teachers Vidya, Jennifer and the entire Frog Lotus staff for sharing their gifts and talents with her. She is honored and proud to be part of Frog Lotus Yoga! Teaching yoga is a major instrument for accomplishing Karen’s mission! She is overjoyed and excited to knit together everything she has studied to present a balanced, well rounded approach toward a healthy body and mind!
