Everything in its right time is beautiful.

Ever since I was very young, I had a deep love of physical movement, and also a yearning to experience the full joy and freedom of being alive! I became interested in spirituality from my early teens. When I found the idea that we are all consciousness and that consciousness is boundless, whole, and ever-present – I felt like I was coming home.

My journey took me on many twists and turns, as life often does, through years as a dancer growing up and then working as a program director in the non-profit sector. I started doing yoga at the age of 23 at a particularly turbulent time in my life, and it was truly a lifesaver. I studied mainly Vinyasa, but also Iyengar, Hatha, Ashtanga, Anusara, and Yin.

Finally, I decided to take the plunge and quit my office job to train as a Yoga teacher. I researched for months and kept returning to the Frog Lotus Yoga website. In August of 2010, I sold most of my belongings, gave up my apartment, and went to Massachusetts to train at the original Frog Lotus Yoga Studio with Jennifer Yarro. I had no idea what was going to come after, but I was so happy I didn’t care! I embraced the unknown, and it led me on a truly amazing adventure. I spent a year and a half working with Jennifer, teaching at the studio and all around North Adams, and learning Thai Yoga massage at Jennifer’s Triple Gem school. Then in March of 2012, I accepted Vidya’s offer and moved to Spain for the opening of Suryalila Retreat Centre. I lived and taught at Suryalila for two years, during which time I traveled extensively to teach with Frog Lotus Yoga on the 200-hour trainings and to continue my own studies. I completed the first half of my 500-hour Advanced training with Vidya and Jennifer in Thailand (where I met my future husband, Ross) and the second half in India (where we got engaged). In 2014, I moved to Cornwall, England to live with Ross on the stunning coastline, just meters from the sea.

I currently teach local classes in Cornwall, and lead workshops and retreats throughout the UK and Europe. Since coming to live just meters from the sea, I have fallen in love with Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) and SUP Yoga. In April 2016, I became a certified SUP Yoga instructor and I now offer private sessions and retreats to introduce others to my new hobby! I love my work, but my absolute favorite thing continues to be teaching at the Frog Lotus Yoga 200-hour trainings. I have taught hundreds of yogis on over 20 trainings in Spain, Costa Rica, Bali, and the US – every time it is an honor and a joy, and it never gets old.

“Alicia has such a spark about her. More like a fire than a spark. Her classes are beautiful; her instruction is thorough and her personal practice is gorgeous. She is so vibrantly in love with being alive in this human form and the fact that she offers that to her students makes my heart smile.”  – Kaysea, Atlanta, USA

“I first met Alicia during my 200 hour teacher training with FLY in Costa Rica. This was a 3-week intensive course and she was one of our instructors, so I was learning from her almost every day. She is an inspiring and extremely knowledgeable teacher. Her practice is beautiful and you can see the passion she has for yoga and for passing on her knowledge. I went to her with many questions and she always answered them clearly and enthusiastically and I was so happy to have met her! I learned so much from Alicia…I could not recommend her more as a teacher.”  – Karen, London

“I spent my 3 weeks of intensive teacher training with Alicia where she was one of the instructors. She is an amazing teacher and very inspiring, both in physical practice and spiritual/mental development. She is very refined in postural alignment and is also very involved in hands-on assisting which gives students, like me, guidance to grow. Her personality is warm and kind, which made it easy to feel connected to her. I could feel how much she really loves yoga and teaching, and this love radiates into her classes and the way she connects to her students.”  – Iir, Cambridge
