1 March – 8 March, 2021
Join us for a week of rest, relaxation, rejuvenation, and learning. Not only will you receive the personal benefits of both a Restorative Yoga and a Yoga Nidra practice, but you will learn to teach both in this double certification training!
In the demands of our fast-paced high energy lifestyle, restorative self-care practices are becoming not just a luxury but a necessity. Both Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra can have numerous benefits including balancing the nervous system, boosting immune system, healing emotional trauma or stress, and calming the mind. Both can be stand alone practices, utilized together in a session, or incorporated into other systems such as adding Yoga Nidra to the end of an asana practice.
Restorative Yoga utilizes passive stretching and use of props to promote deep relaxation and restoration. Usually poses are held for 5-20 minutes. A restorative class may include 5-6 poses.
Yoga Nidra is also known as ‘yogi sleep.’ It is a deep relaxation technique used while fully conscious and lingering between states of wakefulness and sleep. The practice is usually done on the floor in resting position while words and suggested visualization relaxes the body and mind.
